Scope
This Policy applies to personal information we handle about U.S. consumers and site visitors in connection with the Services. It does not cover employees or applicants.
Notice at Collection — What We Collect & Why
We collect only what is needed to operate the Services and meet legal requirements.
• Identifiers (name, email, phone, address, date of birth; limited government ID details necessary for age/identity checks) — Purpose: verify age/identity, fulfill orders, provide support, comply with law.
• Transaction & account data (purchases, loyalty/enrollment details, preferences) — Purpose: process orders, operate loyalty, prevent fraud, maintain records.
• Payment data (limited) (transaction confirmations; we do not store full card numbers) — Purpose: complete payments via our processors.
• Device/usage data (IP address, cookie IDs, pages viewed) — Purpose: secure and improve the Services; basic analytics.
• In-store CCTV (video in/around premises) — Purpose: safety, security, loss prevention.
• Medical program status (IL, if you choose to shop as a medical patient) — Purpose: comply with Illinois law and purchase limits.
We do not collect biometrics for retail transactions. If that changes, we will provide a separate BIPA notice and obtain written consent.
Sources
Directly from you; automatically via your device/browser; and from service providers (e-commerce, POS, loyalty, payment, security/ID verification, analytics) acting on our behalf.
How We Use Information
To operate, secure, and improve the Services; verify age/identity; process orders and payments; run loyalty programs; provide support; communicate about orders and Service changes; prevent fraud; keep required records; and comply with law.
Disclosures
We disclose personal information as needed to:
• Service providers/processors (e.g., payment, e-commerce/POS, loyalty/SMS/email, hosting, security, analytics) under contracts limiting use to our purposes.
• Authorities when required by law or to protect rights, safety, and security.
• Business transfers (e.g., merger or asset sale), subject to this Policy or a successor notice.
• Advertising/analytics partners (limited device/usage data) to measure performance and, where applicable, provide more relevant content.
We do not sell personal information for money. Some state laws define “sell” or “share” to include certain targeted advertising; you may opt out as described below.
Retention
We keep information only as long as needed for the purposes above and to meet legal/accounting requirements, then delete or de-identify it. CCTV is retained for a limited period unless required for investigations.
Security
We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards appropriate to the data. No method is 100% secure.
Marketing Choices
- Email: use the unsubscribe link.
• SMS: reply STOP to opt out; HELP for help. Message/data rates may apply.
• Cookies/ads: see Your State Privacy Rights to opt out of sale/share/targeted ads where applicable.
Children & Minors
Services are for 21+ (or 18+ for qualifying Illinois medical patients). We do not knowingly collect data from others.
Your State Privacy Rights (where applicable)
Depending on your state, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, and opt out of the sale/share of personal information and certain profiling.
Submit requests or opt out by emailing info@trueil.com. We honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal as an opt-out of sale/share where required by law. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
Illinois Notices
- PIPA (815 ILCS 530): If a security breach occurs, we will notify you consistent with Illinois law.
• BIPA (740 ILCS 14): If we ever collect biometric identifiers, we will provide a separate written policy, obtain written consent, and follow retention/destruction rules.
Third-Party Links/Services
Our Services may link to or integrate third-party sites/apps. Their practices are governed by their own policies.
International Visitors
We operate in the United States; your data may be processed in the U.S. under U.S. laws.
Changes
We may update this Policy. The Effective Date shows the latest version. Material changes will be posted here and, if required, we will notify you and/or request consent.
